OUR MISSION

The Center for the Advancement of Teaching aims to advance passionate, reflective, and evidence-informed teaching. We contribute to Wake Forest’s distinctive mission by encouraging the development of teacher-student relationships that prepare all students to live examined, purposeful lives.

OUR TEAM

One of the biggest achievements of the 2021-2022 academic year was the creation of two new positions within the CAT, and the hiring of both Megan Hobbs and Karen Singer-Freeman to fill those positions. The CAT is now fully-staffed with leadership in each of the areas identified in our 2019 strategic plan. We appreciate the campus partners who agreed to serve on these search committees: Amy Archambault, Shannon Ashford, Nicole Brocato, Allen Brown, Kyle Denlinger, Bethany Leggett, and Malika Roman-Isler. Our searches would not have been as successful without their contributions. If you have not already met them, we encourage you to learn more about Karen and Megan at the links below.
